Leopard tortoises are the fourth largest species of tortoise in the world.
Females are bigger than male leopard tortoises, and can weigh up to 45kg.
On your next visit to Auckland Zoo, be sure to pop by the tortoise creche, where our tiny 0 - 2 year old leopard tortoises live - the oldest of our youngsters is only 3 years old.
