Emma and Laurel are giving our Asian elephant Burma a delightful pool-side scrub! Elephants are natural water babies so they love spending time in the pool to cool down, and as Emma explains, they'll often use their trunk to do just that - sucking up as much as 8-10 litres of water at one time to spray themselves with.

Though Burma and Anjalee are pleased to be sharing a bubble, just like you or I, Burma also likes to have a bit of alone time where she can get pampered. This pool-side pamper session helps to reinforce her special bond with our keepers, while also allowing them to get in and remove any dead skin she may have, as well as perform a visual health check.
